My name is Gareth Llewellyn and I’m a Senior Operations Engineer at DataSift.com managing our core server estate, working with software such as nginx, haproxy, Varnish, mySQL, Redis, zeroMQ, Chef etc; networking hardware including BIG IP F5 load balancers, Cisco 3500 switches, 5510 firewalls, HP SANs as well as a variety of server hardware to handle the workload of filtering, augmenting, delivering and storing multiple simultaneous real time data streams such as the Twitter firehose.

Previously I was a recovering Senior Systems Administrator Technical Team Manager at a large Managed Hosting company here in the UK.

This Blog is just a scratch pad of some of the projects I work on both professionally and personally. The NAMOS Network is what some of my more outlandish projects revolve around and if I’m nowhere to be found its because I’ll be enjoying the mystical blue light cast by the NAMOS Rack Cabinet.

When I’m not at Work or playing with the NAMOS network I’ll be working on one of my various other little projects or running round various Airsoft locations with an Airsoft Gun shooting at and getting shot by other people.
